I'd never heard of Peter Jackson until someone recommended this film to me. Made on a low budget by himself and some friends and doing all the make-up and effects himself, it's an outstanding achievement that's simply unmissable for any fan of gore to the max mixed with a wicked sense of humour. 

The story's simple, aliens are set to take over the world and turn the human race into lunch. Jackson shows the talent which took him to the big league in Hollywood a few films later with "THE FRIGHTNERS" and "Lord Of The Rings".

The gore scenes are excellent and plentiful but are so outrageous as to escape the attentions of the dreaded B.B.F.C. Braindead soon followed this one and cemented Jackson's name with horror fans worldwide as a force to be reckoned with.
